Eli’s Story

“It’s in his blood, you might say, for as a child, Eli had fond memories of watching Grandpa King crafting furniture and seeing the beauty unfold as his grandma stained and finished the furniture by hand. In his teenage years he began his own journey of handcrafted furniture, his first piece being a bureau for his sister. As a young man, Eli went to work full time on a carpenter crew, although his love of woodworking kept him busy crafting projects in his spare time. In 1980 as Grandpa King’s health declined, Eli took over his cedar chest business, and Eli’s Woodshop was born. Through the next number of years after additional ventures into building fiberglass carts and dog houses, the love of furniture crafting won out as more products were added to his line. Today Eli’s Woodshop manufactures the Handcrafted Home Living Collection, offering a full line of quality, handcrafted Dining and Bedroom furniture pieces. While many things have changed through the years, a few remain the same. The love of handcrafting and attention to quality and detail. Also today, family is still at the core of the business with Eli’s son Alvin now partnered with his father in the business and Eli’s grandchildren are building their own memories watching their grandpa and father still handcrafting furniture for you!
